Young's Printing is committed to eco-sustainable printing. How are we different?
|
|
| |
|
|
1. Our house-stock offset sheet contains
100% FSC certified post-consumer recycled fiber, is processed using
biogas energy, without the use of chlorine. Compared to virgin paper,
every 100 pounds of our house sheet saves one tree, 510 gallons of
fresh water, 119 pounds of air emissions, and 54 pounds of solid
waste. It is manufactured in a suburb of Montreal just 6 hours from
our plant, so it also saves on transportation emissions, over Asian and
European alternatives.
Other eco-friendly stock choices at
Young's Printing include non-plastic envelope windows, which are fully
recyclable, which are made from organic materials and can be recycled
along with paper.

|
2. The process inks we use are soy-based
and solvent-free. Other printers use inks with high Volatile Organic
Compound (V.O.C.) content. Those V.O.C.'s are likely carcinogens and
end up in our air and groundwater. Eco-friendly inks print
beautifully, so there is really no reason to compromise. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
3. We use only 100% recycleable aluminum
printing plates, and have a chemistry-free direct-to-plate system.
Some other printing companies still use film processes or use aluminum
plates, but with caustic chemical baths. Still others use plastic
printing plates. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
4. All mailing lists are thoroughly scubbed to avoid
over-printing. Undeliverable addresses, outdated addresses, and duplicate
addresses are identified and corrected before your mail is addressed.
